We’re starting a regular feature here on The Traveling Journal blog where we feature other groups of long distance friends. There are LOTS of you out there that are staying close despite distance and we want to hear how you’re doing it. We’ll call it The Friendship Files and this week we’re focusing on Jill Seiman and her gorgeous group of gal pals. Jill’s a busy wife, mom and blogger behind Glamamom. On top of that she makes time to stay connected to seven lovely friends that she met while studying at the University of Pennsylvania over ten years ago. Here’s her list of long distance friends pictured at her friend Celina’s wedding in El Salvador:

Jill: Manhattan, New York, Aimee: Los Angeles, California, Celina, San Salvador, El Salvador, Linda, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Christina, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jacqui, Guatemala City, Guatemala, Olivia, London, England, Michelle, New York, New York

TTJ: Do you ever get to see your friends in person?
Jill: We had each other’s weddings, so for a few years we could always count on seeing each other for the celebrations.  I’ve travelled to Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Turkey, and the Caribbean for such occasions.
TTJ: Besides making a point to visit each other, what else do you do to stay connected to your long distance friends?
Jill: Now that most of us are moms, it’s harder to travel and we rely heavily on social media like Facebook, Twitter, and my blog, Glamamom, to stay connected.  We also utilize Skype, Gmail Chat, and Black Berry Messenger to share photos and say quick hellos.
TTJ: Do you have any plans in the works to get together again?
Jill: The idea of picking a destination to meet up at for one big family vacation has been thrown around but we have yet to mobilize!Fortunately, I live in New York City and everyone always comes to visit ;)

Want us to feature you and your group of long distance friends? Simply send an email to “friends” at our domain name. Include information about how you met and how you stay connected. Plus we’d love to see a photo of the gang together.

Thanks so much for featuring my girls and I. No distance can ever erase the memories we share and while we don’t see each other as often, the love and support is as strong as ever.

Fantastic feature and I look forward to reading more.

I happen to be a lucky friend of Glamamom as well and can attest that she is awesome at the long distance love. – Great feature!
